Quality Child Care and Preschool

Our structured programs are designed to encourage creativity through the use of non-restrictive projects. Activities include coloring, painting, drawing, finger painting, collage, etc. YWCA encourages process, not product, when children are creating art projects. In conjunction with the encouragement of creativity, we also emphasize fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, language development, listening skills, role-playing, field trips, and outdoor activities, which reinforce these concepts. As the children are participating in these activities, the staff has the opportunity to encourage positive self-image through conversations and acknowledgment of the child’s accomplishments.
